but the ROM memory is non-erasable mostly hard disks and SSD are used as ROM for the current PCs and laptops. This memory will not be erased even when the supply gets Cuts of or when the system gets restarted.

What is the significant role of using ROM in desktops and laptops?

Mostly our operating system program and the system booting program are stored in the ROM devices like hard disks or SSD which play a significant role in booting up our system or while restarting the system.
Another purpose of ROM is that the user can permanently store their data's photos and videos in the hard disk.

SSD- used to store boot program and system OS.
HDD- used to store personal data like images and videos.

Both are used to store boot program and personal data but the reason for storing boot program & OS in SSD instead of HDD is SSD will boot the system faster than HDD.
