Let's see what does each sensor do its work in the smartphones:

Proximity sensor

• This is the standard sensor which is available in all the smartphones.

• The main job of the proximity sensor is when the user picks up the call and lifts the smartphone nearer to the ears proximity sensor detect the nearness of the human body and to prevent the misoperation it automatically turns off the screen.

• This sensor is fixed in your smartphone nearer to the earpiece of your smartphone.

Gyroscope sensor

• This is the major sensor which helps us to play games just by tilting the smartphones.
• To experience VR and AR gyroscope sensor plays a major role.
• This sensor working is based on axis based motion sensing like movement and rotational forces along with x, y, z-axis.

Accelerometer sensor

• This sensor is similar to the gyroscope sensor but this type of only plays its role in two modes(portrait & landscape).

• When the user tilts or rotates the smartphone from (portrait to landscape) or (landscape to portrait) sensor helps to rotate the smartphone screen.
• This sensor is also senses based on axis based motion sensing.

Magnetometer sensor

• This is the standard sensor and also one of the useful sensor which we can see this in every smartphone.
• This sensor works like a compass in your smartphone based on sensing magnetic fields and also helps google maps or apple maps to indicate you where north, south, east, west in your maps.

Ambient light sensor

• Most people using this sensor in their day to day life without knowing it!!.
• It is nothing but an Automatic-Brightness control sensor.
• These sensors basically sense the light level surround the smartphone and automatically adjusts the brightness based on the light level.

Ambient Temperature sensor

• It is used to detect the temperature surrounding your environment.
• It helps us to know the temperature level in our surrounding environment.

NFC sensor

• This is the only sensor which has more advantages and most widely used sensor across the world,

IR sensor

• It is nothing but the Infrared sensors which is mostly available in all mi & Huawei smartphones.
• The main intention to add IR sensors in smartphones to replace the remotes which we are using in our television, air conditioner, etc.
• We can control all the devices which are used to control the IR sensor in a single device. 

Sound sensor

• The name itself tells the working of the sensor, it detects the sound from the surrounding.
• This sensor employed with a microphone to trigger the google assistant or Alexa in the smartphones.
• This sensor is mostly used in google home or Alexa smart home speakers to respond to the user's voice.
